JVS Annual Friends Appeal

JVS goes beyond "stop gap" measures by providing programs in which clients gain benefits that are not only immediate, but that also multiply over a lifetime. In fact, an independent study shows that every $1 invested in JVS by a funder yields returns to a client of $2 - $3 in higher earnings within the first 1-2 years of program completion and returns of $5 - $15 within 5-10 years after completion. A contribution to JVS is more than a gift; it is an investment in people.

       Here are just a few examples of what your contribution to JVS can achieve:

$2,500       Helps Nancy, a JVS Certified Nursing Assistant program graduate take the steps needed to successfully enroll in college and pursue advancement in her career

$1,000       Pays for six months of an evening English class for Fadumo, a Somali refugee who is working her first job as a dishwasher, so that she can better communicate with her manager and her children’s teachers.

$500          Enables Diana, recently unemployed, to work one-on-one with an employment specialist to create a resume, prepare for interviews, and conduct a successful job search.

$250          Assists James in repairing his credit and provides additional financial literacy classes to help him efficiently manage his limited resources and recover from seemingly insurmountable debt.

$100          Provides a transportation pass for Jacqui to get to and from work her first two months on the job.

Giving Options

JVS accepts gifts of stock as well as eligible individuals can also make a charitable gift from an IRA. Also, JVS collaborates with donors who want to designate a contribution to a particular program.
