Judy Sacks, the Director of Career Moves, has 25 years of experience in both workforce development and Jewish communal service. She has developed many community partnerships and received awards for her contributions to the Jewish communal and refugee resettlement fields. Judy is active in the International Association of JVS. She is a graduate of Boston University and is a licensed social worker.
George Zeller, our Senior Employment Specialist, is a JVS veteran and is well respected in the greater Boston employment arena. He has extensive experience coaching candidates on getting the most out of their job search.. Prior to JVS, George worked in human resources and operations at small manufacturing firms. George earned a Master's Degree in counseling from Northeastern University and is past president of the Boston Chapter of the Association for Counseling Professionals International. George is a certified Professional Resume Writer. He is an active member of the Career Counselor's Consortium and recently joined the Career Management Alliance.
Judy Bottkol, our employment coach, has over 25 years HR experience in the consumer products, hospitality and financial services industries. Judy provides 1:1 coaching and facilitates SUCCESS TEAMS. She also designs and delivers many of our workshops. Judy tracks local and national employment trends to help clients do effective company research and she facilitates many job referrals. Judy earned a B.A. from Boston College in Business Administration.
Julie Unger is our Career Networks Coordinator with the Jewish Women’s Career Network. She facilitates career networking and mentoring opportunities for professional Jewish women through workshops, lecture series and partnerships. She also manages our CAREER ADVISORY NETWORK (CAN) where community volunteers provide informational interviews and customized consultation for our professional clients. Julie earned an M.A./M.B.A. from Brandeis University.
Martha Plotkin is our lead career counselor. She guides professionals through the career decision-making and career change process. Martha is our Certified 2Young2Retire Facilitator, helping baby boomers to think about next steps - whether a career change, finding new meaning in an existing career, retirement or a combination. She facilitates SUCCESS TEAMS and CAREER DECISION MAKING GROUPS and she is a Qualified Administrator of the MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR. Martha holds both an M.B.A and an M.Ed .
Bellie Hacker is our program assistant. She has worked as a graphic design freelancer. Bellie designs all Career Moves materials including our E-newsletter. She also uses her skill as a trainer to conduct Career Moves workshops and trainings.
Newton Office
Amy Mazur is a certified career counselor. She is committed to helping individuals find their vocational path by tapping into their strengths and passions. Amy strives to create a trusting atmosphere for the client which, in turn, allows for self acceptance and self exploration. Amy earned her B.A. from the University of Michigan and holds a Master of Education degree, with a concentration in Counseling / Consulting, from Harvard University. She is a member of the Career Counselors' Consortium and coordinates their Professional Development Seminars. Amy facilitates SUCCESS TEAMS AND CAREER DECISION-MAKING GROUPS.
Debbie Lipsett is a Career Coach working out of the Career Moves Newton office. She also sees clients and offers workshops in the South Shore and in Metrowest. Debbie brings a wealth of experience in career coaching and community outreach. Active in the Jewish community for many years, she’s also worked in college career offices and in private practice. Debbie graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and received her Master’s degree from the University of Chicago with a specialization in Career Development. She is a Certified Job and Career Development Coach (CJCD) and has trained with Richard Bolles, author of What Color is Your Parachute and Barbara Barron-Tieger who wrote Do What You Are. She has a particular expertise in using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator with individuals and groups. Over the past 20 years, Deb has worked with businesses and individual clients from a variety of backgrounds from recent college graduates, parents returning to the work force or those changing their careers.
