English Language Classes
English courses for non-native speaking workers are critical for both individual and organizational success. Customized ESOL courses incorporate your organization’s specific needs, practices, language, and work scenarios into the curriculum. Focus is placed on reading, writing, listening and speaking. Instructors work with your organization to understand the outcomes that are most important to you.
Adult Basic Education
Basic adult education skills and literacy issues are one the most challenging barriers to career development and job retention. JVS’ Adult Basic Education courses are designed to raise participants’ baseline skills in reading, writing, math, history, and science, thus enabling your employees to pursue either the Adult Diploma Program (ADP) or the High School Equivalency (HSE).
Courses are designed to prepare your team members for entry into the Community College System. Core components include reading comprehension, college level writing and college math in preparation for the College Placement Test. Participants will raise their reading, writing and math skills, enabling them to pursue college degree or certification programs.
Professional Communication Class
This course develops verbal and/or written communication & leadership development skills including leading meetings, giving and receiving feedback, negotiation skills, and working in a multi-cultural environment, critical for career success in American business culture. JVS introduces experiential role-playing exercises to help students polish their skills. Training is based on individual workplace needs and communication challenges for both native and non-native speakers of English.
Employee productivity is greatly enhanced by providing and upgrading basic computer skills. JVS offers worksite classes in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Calendar, Intranet, and Email.
Customer Service Training
These classes develop communication, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and change management skills in entry level and frontline employees. Through highly contextualized, interactive and experientially based curriculum, students learn skills that will better equip them to be successful in their jobs and deliver excellent customer service experiences.
