JVS Director of the Hospitality Career Institute Nancy Aldrich
Nancy’s role at JVS as the new Director of the Hospitality Institute is to oversee and strategically develop the new Hospitality Career Institute (HCI). The HCI has partnered with the International Institute of Boston, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, and nine other major hospitality employers in order to meet the workforce development needs of the hospitality industry in the greater Boston region. The goal of these collaborative efforts, funded by a grant from the Work Force Competitiveness Trust Fund (WCTF) through CommCorp, is to enable entry-level hospitality employees to gain access to employment, education, and skills to move forward in their career path.
Previously, Nancy gained 20 years experience in the Hospitality Industry working for both international and domestic hotels, resorts, and casino corporations. In her most recent role, Nancy was a hotel job performance coach, auditing senior level managers for job competency. These third party job performance evaluations enabled Managers a better understanding of how to enhance the quality of their work while providing managers a better platform to advance in their hotel careers.
Nancy holds a Bachelors Degree in Government/Social Sciences from Harvard University and Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in Employment, Labor, and Corporation law.
