CJP Anti-Poverty Initiative
The CJP Anti-Poverty Initiative connects individuals and families in the Greater Boston Jewish community who are in, or at risk of, severe financial hardship with a full spectrum of coordinated services including emergency access to food and financial assistance, job search support and help with public benefits. All services are aimed at helping people move beyond crisis to achieve greater stability.
JVS operates two employment programs as part of the CJP Anti-Poverty Initiative. Both of JVS’s programs feature financial coaching services for all participants enrolled, thanks to CJP donor support.
Through RE:Connect, eligible Jewish community members referred by one of the community partners receive an array of employment services including assessment, development of an employment plan, skill-building workshops, resume, job search groups, LinkedIn, interviewing, networking and job placement services.
Ready for Success
Ready for Success is a partnership between JVS and Jewish Family Service of MetroWest in Framingham, and CJP. The JVS Ready for Success career navigator is housed in the JFS office and works closely with their Family Assistance Network (FAN) to address barriers to employment and enhance job-readiness skills to re-engage in the workforce.
