Animal Care Technician Training Program

Are you interested in supporting medical research? Become an Animal Care Technician and help hospitals and medical facilities conduct groundbreaking medical research! In partnership with the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Institute, JVS offers a paid Animal Care Technician Training Program for people born outside of the U.S. that will equip you with the skills you need to launch your career.

This 8-week training program is PAID, and participants earn $18.50/hour. Following graduation, JVS will help you transition into a position at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Institute!

Program Overview:

  • Next Cohort Fall 2024
  • Training Pay Rate: $18.50/hr. to $22.00/hr for 30-40 hours per week
  • 8-12 week, full time PAID training for intermediate to high level English speakers born outside of the U.S.
  • Guaranteed full-time, benefitted job placement
  • In-person JVS led support classes and on-the-job training
  • Shifts are between 7am – 3:30pm and 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, with rotating weekend day shifts, once per month with some employers. This is a great opportunity for parents with flexible childcare accommodations!

Am I eligible for this program?

  • HS Diploma, GED or foreign equivalency
  • No prior experience required
  • Successfully pass a background screening
  • Stand for 8 hours every day
  • Work some weekends and holidays
  • Participants are considered for jobs as Animal Care Technicians must commit to at least 1 to 2 years if hired
