Our volunteers provide us with additional resources, allowing us to operate 35 programs across the agency while directly impacting our clients and the Greater Boston community. With volunteer support, clients may feel more confident and equipped to enter the workforce. We’d love you to join us in this important, meaningful work.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities
We offer a variety of in-person and remote volunteer opportunities. Some of our most popular volunteer opportunities include:
Classroom Assistance & Tutoring
Work with students one-on-one and in small groups to support student learning goals to secure employment
Job Search & Resume Assistance
Work with individuals from any program to assist with the job search process and resume review.
Mock Interviews
Work with individuals from various programs to practice their interviewing skills.
Tax Preparation
Work with our Financial Opportunity Center during tax season to help low-income individuals complete their tax returns.
Internship Opportunities
JVS provides hands-on and meaningful internships. Interns will have the opportunity to be an active member of a team, build professional skills and work directly with clients.

Yes, we can accommodate groups of up to 20 people at our downtown location or virtually. We offer various internship opportunities to build your skills while meeting the needs of our clients. Many of our internships include Career Coach Assistant, Business Development Assistants and Marketing Assistants.

Time commitments vary based on the role. Most positions require a regular weekly commitment of at least 3-months. Other roles might be one-time events or flexible opportunities.
