Dawn Hayes
Major Gifts Officer
Dawn is JVS’s Major Gifts Officer in the Development Department. She plays a critical role in increasing major donor support, including planned giving, and acts as an ambassador for JVS Boston across the community. Her focus is to identify new and diverse donors, to cultivate and steward our existing donors to increase overall retention and giving, and to manage relationships between donors and others on the board and staff who work with them.
Prior to JVS, Dawn worked at DOVE (Domestic Violence Ended), Inc. as their Director of Marketing & Philanthropy. She was responsible for leading the department and supervising all development staff. Working as a team, she secured a million-dollar transformational gift; laid the groundwork and cultivated donors to facilitate the donation. Dawn and her team also doubled DOVE’s individual giving between 2018 and 2022.
You may also remember Dawn as the long-time television spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Lottery prior to joining the fundraising field.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Communications and Speech from Emerson College in Boston.
