Job Quality Benchmarking Index

JVS Boston sits at the intersection of employers and job seekers. In today’s labor market, employees seek stability and professional development, while employers need new strategies for retention and success. JVS’s Job Quality Benchmarking Index (JQBI) is essential for achieving both goals.

The JQBI is a survey and qualitative tool that provides employers with qualitative data on how their jobs stack up against competitors on the five pillars of job quality. We’re committed to partnering with employers to create tangible impacts that transform the workforce.

Pillars of Job Quality

JVS’s Job Quality Benchmarking Index defines job quality through the lens of job seekers themselves, capturing what they value in employment rather than relying on broad, generic standards. The survey distills these priorities into 5 pillars, aligned with National Fund Job Design Framework and provides employers with an accessible view of the key job quality dimensions that matter most to job seekers.

How To Become a Licensee

Looking to improve job quality in your region? Join JVS by becoming a licensee of the Job Quality Benchmarking Index. Licensees include regional workforce development boards, nonprofit workforce development agencies, local employers, and more.

After a short survey, the JQBI generates a summary report that shows an employer how their jobs stack up against regional competitors. Employers who enlist in JVS’s consultation services to improve job quality will receive a detailed report that contains a question-by-question analysis for a fee.
