Massachusetts needs not only more immigrants, but more workplace-ready immigrants – Op-Ed in Boston Business Journal

< 1 Minute Read >

Our JVS Boston President & CEO Kira Khazatsky recently published an op-ed with Thomas O’Brien in the Boston Business Journal on the impactful contributions that immigrants make to Massachusetts’s workforce and the reasons why government and community organizations should continue to invest in the professional development of immigrants in our Commonwealth.

The ideas in this piece come straight from the work we do at JVS. Every day, our staff help immigrants and refugees learn the English they need for the job in front of them, put their professional training back to use, and connect with employers who need their skills.

Tom, whose company is helping build Greater Boston, makes the case alongside me. As a businessman and employer, he recognizes the same things we do: that this work is needed in this moment and that Massachusetts has an opportunity to step up.
