Prepare for success in college and beyond! In Bridges to College and Careers, you’ll build your academic skills, apply for college, and kickstart a career after graduation.

What does this program offer?

  • A free 23-week program which includes academic, career, and financial coaching to help prepare you for college and beyond
  • A smooth transition to either Bunker Hill Community College or Quincy College so you can get your degree
  • Lifelong career advancement coaching after you graduate

Am I eligible for this program?

  • Age 18 or older
  • High school diploma (from anywhere in the world), GED, or HiSET
  • Intermediate to high English skills
  • U.S. citizen, green card holder, refugee status, or asylee/parolee status
  • For Biotechnology only: strong math skills and an interest in science

General Studies

General Studies prepares you to go to Bunker Hill Community College, where you can study in the program of your choosing. Classes meet part-time in the mornings. General Studies students have gone on to study subjects such as Healthcare, Nursing, Languages, Early Childhood Education, Culinary Arts, and many others.

Schedule: Monday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
                   Tuesday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
                   Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
                   Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Business/Technology

Business/Technology prepares you for a career in the fields of business and technology offered at Bunker Hill Community College. Classes meet part-time in the mornings. In college, Business/Technology students major in in topics such as Finance/Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Management, Engineering, and Information Technology.

Schedule: Monday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
                   Tuesday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
                   Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
                   Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Biotechnology

Biotechnology prepares you for a career working in the thriving Biotechnology industry doing lab research, manufacturing, and quality control. Classes are part time in the evening. After JVS, Biotechnology students enroll at Quincy College in their year long Biotechnology and Good Manufacturing Practices Certificate program.

Schedule: Monday 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
                   Tuesday 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
                   Wednesday 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
                   Thursday 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

English for Academic Success

English for Academic Success (EAS) provides you with the English reading and writing skills you need to succeed in the Bridges to College & Careers program and beyond.

Schedule: Monday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
                   Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
                   Friday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
