Bridges to College and Careers (BCC) are JVS Boston’s free college bridge programs. These programs help you prepare for success in college and beyond! In all of our Bridges to College and Careers programs, you’ll build your academic skills, apply for college, and kickstart a career after graduation. We currently offer two college bridge programs to support you in your academic journey. Both programs are offered in partnership with Quincy College.
In our Bridges to College and Careers Biotech training program, students participate in part-time training in preparation to enroll in Quincy College’s Biotechnology and Good Manufacturing Best Practices Certificate program. Get started on your path to a career in biotechnology.
Students who participate in our Bridges to College and Careers Substance Addiction Assistant Program continue their education at Quincy College earning a Substance Addiction Certificate. This certificate opens the doors to continue your education in a number of ways allowing you to work in a variety of industries

To qualify for our Bridges to College programs, you must be:Â

– When I came here I didn’t know where to go or who to ask.
– I spent a lot of years doing any kind of job.

– I want to change what I am doing and then I almost gave up.
– So they encouraged me to take biotechnology.
– Biotechnology? It must be hard.
– I don’t know too much about it, but I think this is super interesting to me.
– When I was in high school, I did really well in science.
– I was in my country, a student in civil engineering, so I’ve always been very curious about science.
– I hear about genes and pharmaceuticals.
– That’s a good investment to start a career.
– I saw the opportunities, and especially if you noticed, Boston is like a hub for biotech. [Music]
– Besides your classes, you have career coaching, you have financial coaching.
– I got encouragement from the JVS people.

All of our Bridges to College programs are designed to help you continue your education at Quincy College and transition to a certificate or degree program.
As a participant, you’ll receive free career coaching, academic coaching, and financial coaching. We are here to support you in successfully completing your program and building your career.
When you participate in a college bridge program at JVS Boston, our support does not stop. In your last semester of college, you will receive career advancement coaching to help you continue to build your career and reach your full potential.

A college bridge program is a supportive program designed to help those who are not yet enrolled in college or have not had experience in college to prepare to continue their education.Â
In some cases a college bridge program is focused on high school students transitioning to college. At JVS Boston our Bridges to College and Careers programs support adults transitioning to college to start a new career. Our programs help individuals who want to make a change in their careers, individuals who have been unemployed or underemployed, or those who have recently relocated to the Boston area from another country.
During your participation in a Bridges to College and Careers program you will learn job skills including professionalism in the workplace and improve your English skills if needed. Your participation in a Bridges to College and Careers program provides you with a full team to support you in your academic and career goals.Â
You will also work with a financial coach to help you prepare for the financial obligations of college, a career coach who will help you determine the career path you want to pursue, and an academic coach who will help you in your studies and prepare you for your transition to Quincy College.
