Reaching for Advancement in Skills and Employment (RAISE)

English 2 Employment is a FREE program for refugees and immigrants to advance your career. This program will improve your English, help with education or training, and work with you to find a better job. Attend intermediate or advanced ESOL classes and meet one-on-one with an expert career coach who will help you move forward in your career!

RAISE Program Overview

This program is open for enrollment. We can help you find out if you qualify.

 

You may also be eligible for financial assistance from our partner organizations for:

  • Free or reduced childcare/after-school programs with an EEC voucher
  • Transportation money or reduced fare T-pass for the subway
  • Help paying for industry certificates — including CNA, CDL, ECE, etc, — and driver’s license

Details

Advance your career with support of a personal career coach for up to 12 months including:

  • Job-searching techniques, support with applications for jobs, training, education programs
  • Resume building and interview preparation
  • Explore training and education opportunities to achieve your goals
  • 14-weeks of free Intermediate to Advanced job readiness ESOL
  • Workshops available for job search, career success, tech skills, and financial literacy

Do You Qualify?

  • You are a refugee or immigrant who speaks Intermediate to Advanced English
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States
  • Want to advance your career within the next 12 months through ESOL, education, training, and/or recertification
  • Able to participate in 12hrs/week of vocational ESOL classes. Schedules available for remote, in person, days, and evenings
  • Six months or more of work experience in the United States

Yes. RAISE can help refugees and immigrants who are parents of dependent children and are receiving – or are eligible to receive – TAFDC (cash benefits) from the Department of Transitional Assistance. 

Yes. RAISE is a free program for refugees and immigrants that includes English classes and job search support to help you find a job or grow in your career.
