SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM

Free Employment Support Services Program

This Employment program with Vocational English classes is designed specifically for job seekers who were born outside of the fifty United States, are parents of dependent children, and are receiving – or are eligible to receive – TAFDC (cash benefits) from the Department of Transitional Assistance. We can help you determine if you are eligible. The intensive pace will prepare you for your first job in the United States, or a step up to a better job.

Employment Support Services Program Overview

The ESSP program offers English classes during the week, Monday to Friday. We offer employment services paired with Vocational English classes to help you land a job in the United States.

Details

  • Expert career coaches to help you secure employment.
  • English classes, interview preparation, skills training and more.
  • Job search/on-going career assistance.
  • Assistance finding free childcare/after-school programs, and obtaining a voucher
  • $80 per month transportation reimbursement.
  • You may be eligible for financial assistance in earning industry certificates — including CNA, CDL, ECE, etc, — and driver’s license
  • Do You Qualify?

    • Parent of a child under 18, receiving TAFDC (cash assistance)
    • Non-native English speaker (no minimum English skills required)
    • Interest in getting a job and building career skills
    • Able to meet remotely with Career Coach and complete program activities
    • Authorized to work in the United States (or with a pathway to work-authorization)
