Reaching for Advancement in Skills and Employment (RAISE)

Are you a refugee or immigrant who is looking to advance your career through improving your English, education, training, and/or finding a better job? Enroll in 14-week vocational ESOL class for intermediate to advanced speakers and meet one-on-one with a career coach who will provide tailored job coaching, assist you with creating a plan to achieve your job goals, and explore education and training opportunities you may need. This could include help finding a skills training, getting your high school diploma, going to college, and/or finding a job in your career path.

Individuals who receive SNAP – Non-Discrimination Statement | USDA and/or TAFDC are welcome to apply!

Details

  • Advance your career with support of a personal career coach for up to 12 months
  • Enroll in 14-weeks of free Intermediate to Advanced vocational ESOL
  • Attend workshops to build skills for job search, career success, and tech and financial literacy
  • Create or update your resume
  • Explore training and education opportunities to achieve your goals
  • Learn job-searching techniques and receive application support for jobs and training or education programs
  • Build your confidence, skills, and clarity to take the next steps in your career
  • Work closely with JVS staff as well as complete tasks independently to achieve their goals
  • Choose to participate in services remotely or in person

Do You Qualify?

  • You are a refugee or immigrant who speaks Intermediate to Advanced English
  • Currently work authorized and able to be work authorized for the duration of the program
  • You are seeking to advance your career within the next 12 months through ESOL, education, training, and/or recertification
  • You are seeking 12hrs/week of vocational ESOL classes remotely or in person.
  • You have 6+ months of work experience in the United States
